So I have been having this white dust issue that collects on the glass in the water but now I have ANOTHER ISSUE.

There are these organism or something that is sticking on the plants.

It's white, has a tube shape with 4 little sting like tentacles that stick out. Kinda like a sea enemy.

It has to be a quarter the size of my pinky nail.

So what is this and how do I kill it?

Future thanks

Kinda of except it's white and ir has 4-5 long arms or strings coming out. It's all over the plants, but not on the fish.

So if it is an anchor warm, I'm royally screwed?

None of my fish have any symptoms.

What is the best chemical I can get to get rid of anchor worms or worms in general.

Is there a specific one at Petco?

Its hydra, not a problem for adult fish, google it for pics to be sure

Dude you nailed it!

I do have fry's in the tank.

Is that going to be a problem?

What is the best way to get rid of hydra?

They are no threat to live bearer fry, they are too big for the hydra to catch they can only catch very small fry like dwarf gourami fry, so unless you have tiny egg layer fry I wouldn’t worry about them. A lot of the gourami species are supposed to eat them as do Siamese Flying foxes, there is some snail species that eat them too, there is probably some chemical treatments but I don’t know about them. I have a few in my tanks they don’t do any harm so I just leave them they won’t have a population explosion, they look quite interesting under a magnifying glass.

Try harvesting them, and then sell them, they are almost in a high demand. A fairly rare little "pest" tpo get on purpose, more common to get by accident.
