Weird Molly

My female balloon molly is pregnant. For the last two days she's been hiding in a cave we have. But my black molly is going mad. Hes not leaving her and if any other fish comes near to it he chases them away. Any ideas to why please?

I belive females give off a hormone around the birthing time, this will get the male excited and he will want to mate her as soon as shes given birth, so he makes sure his sperm is used.
