So i got my water test in the mail yesterday(Red Sea Fresh Master Test Kit Deluxe), and did most of the tests on my tap water, so i could get a baseline reading.

But now i have a coule of questions regarding the tests.

1.) For the GH/KH tests, do you count the first drop as part of the hardness, or only the drops you add after that?

2.) For GH, When I added the first drop, it should have made the water the "start" colour, But instead it was only very very faintly coloured like the start colour... I kept adding drops as per the instructions, and by the time I seen any colour change, it was still very very faint.... almost hard to tell what colour it was.... i could have added the full bottle to get the final, solid colour....

is this normal? or did i do something wrong with the GH test... its just that the colour of that test, wasnt anywhere near as "solid" as the others.

from what i got for the results it was GH: 8 and KH: 6

Well i could see, even though the colours were faint... very faint, as in almost just tinting the water slightly, that it seemed to be the right colour.

does that mean my permenant hardness, is 2 ??

The results i got for the other tests were as such

PH: 7.6
Chlorine: 0.05 PPM
KH: 6
GH: 8
Iron: 0 PPM

Those are just the baseline results of my tap water.

Once I get my RO filter all plumbed in, I will check the waters PH, and hardness.... it shouldn't contain anything else sop no need to waste the test :)
