Okay so when I woke up this morning, the three molly fry in the breeding net were dead. One had it's eyes sucked out, the other one had only a head and the other one was completely gone. I guessed that one of my fish jumped into the breeding net and ate them? I don't know how else they could have disapeared like that and be left with only a head. :-( :dunno:

Then my oldest von rio tetra died today. He was wedged in some fake grass in my tank. he was about 2 years old, when I found him dead he had no signs of injury. His tail fin was pretty nipped up though. I don't really know exactly how he died.

Then I just cleaned the sand in my tank and when I turned the lights on a couple of my bettas were like vertical. They looked as if they were resting near the heater, but they were kind if vertical or diagonal. :dunno: Is this a normal sleeping behavior or should I be worried?

On a good note, I found a baby fry in my brother's 29 gallon. Three sunburst platies are pregnant and so is his guppy so I am not SURE what the one fry is. I am thinking it is a guppy because it is so tiny. Tinier than the fry my molly had. I can't wait to see him/her grow up.

I would be kinda worried. Have you got water param test kits? It could be a nitrite or ammonia spike. Take a sample down to your lfs and they will do some tests for you. Good news about the preg platies though.

I know I was really worried. I added a sailfin plec and since he adds a lot of waste to the tank I was sure it was a nitrite spike or high in nitrates, but I tested and there are 0 nitrites, 0 ammonia and there was 25 nitrate. Now the nitrate is down to like 15.
