Hi, just wondering if anyone could answer me this. Could a pregnant platty give birth over the course of a few days? I ask this as on sunday i was watching my 4 pregnant sunset plattys and noticed a baby near my filter so i netted it out into my little nursery thing i have set up but i have no more babys now on monday night, all my fish still look pregnant and i can still see all the black dots inside. Please help me i have no idea whats going on.

Sometimes I've found that with livebearers one baby survives after a drop for a while until you notice it and save it. So the baby you saw and netted may not have been born recently so the mother platy got pregnant again. Hope this helps, and welcome to the forum! =)

the fry could be as as old as a month, the female platty will hold sperm for as much as a couple of months, so dont be surprised to see the odd fry,

Wagbo, thats a little annoying to make your post extra long so that you have to scroll a lot to get to the bottom...
