My angels are acting really really weird.
I dont know if its aggression or mating behaviour.
They will face each other and they are so close they touch, then one of them will peck the other under its chin but it puts up with it so it cant hurt, then that one does the same AND THEN they kiss!! Their lips join together and then they swim with their lips locked together, then they unlock and face each other and flick, then do it all over again.
I have never seen this with them or any other angels before.
please help me because i am really worried

genreal cichlid behaviuor consists of lip locking its a test of strenth
it also appplys in the breeding ritrals....lip locking head to tail quivering, cleaning on places to lay the eggs
do you know the sexes of the angels..it might be they just dont get on

It does vary between different angels. WHen they are getting ready to breed their papila will be lowered and the male will have a wider, but not always shorter papila. The females will be thinner.
sometimes males have a lump<bumpy head and very slender where as females you may notice more tubby<hear say>
and males should have more of veil fins  :good:

Most likely, you're seeing them test strength and defend territory. I have a pair of adult males (I call them my bulls) in a 55G that are contantly doing this kiind of nonsense. They don't lip lock much any more, but then one has come out as the dominant one. They do flick their fins at each other a lot, though.

Humorously, the dominant angel is the smaller of the two. Both are big, but the submissive one is noticably bigger.
