Came Home from work this evening.

And what does my Dad tell Me.

When He got home he Found My Weather Loach Attached to my Large China Sharks Mouth.

The shark was Swimming around with him attached.

My Dad Had to use the Net to get him to detach from the Shark......

What could have Made the Loach Do This?

I have been sitting watching the tank, and the Loach is very Hyper. It is swimming back and forth along the Front of the Tank and Snapping at any fish that gets in its Way.

know how you feel. i got one for my tank and went after everything that moved, very annoying. i dont think it does much damage, just after the slime coat. maybe it isnt getting enough to eat? dont know really, i took mine back and got a butterfly plec instead(hillstream loach) a hong kong plec is also along the same lines.

arn't weather loaches coldwater fish :dunno: maybe that is why.

WOW, I have had them for years and never seen anything like this. But the hyperness could cuase the seasons are changing. When the Barometric pressure changes the fish swims and jumps alot. Also these fish can live out of water for awile. Where they come from they jump from pond to pond and can live in just mud.

Water Temperature
35-78 deg. F.
They prefer 64

pH Value
6.0-8.0

The Dojo / Weather Loach is one of the very few species, that can survive a wide range in temperature and pH conditions.

He did it again Yesterday while I was @ Work. So I have removed him from the tank and he is in a Critter Keeper for Now.

My Parents May have Mistaken him for the Algae Eaters, so if it done again today then, It was the Algae Eaters and they are So Gone.

Hi psgill00 :)

That doesn't sound like the behavior of a weather loach to me. I had two in my community tank for quite some time and never saw anything even remotely like them attacking any other fish. This is even thought they were (by far) the biggest ones in there. They are active, but generally peaceful according to my experience with them. :D

This is strange I am with Inchworm. You sure this is a dojo loach? I have been keeping them for around 20 years and never seen anything like this. But like I always say "all tanks are different".

do you have any pics of it to ID it if it could be wrong.....

the hong kong plecs at work have always left the goldfish alone, we have a few in the coldwater tanks.

He/She is definetly a Weather loach, Ive kept them Before.

Nothing Happened today while I was @ Work, So I am thinking it was the Loach.

I asked My Olds, again to decribe the Fish.

They said.

The Really Long one, long Whiskers, Green and White (Mine Looks Almost Silver in the Light Most of the Time) and Swims around the Tank Alot. The Snake Like 1.

This is the Longest fish in the Tank and the Only Snake Like thing apart from the Kuhlis, but the Olds Call them the Worms.

Gonna Leave Him/Her in the Critter Keeper A little longer and Make Double Sure.

This is the Best Pic I have of him as I am Crap at Closeups.
