I'm in Planted School.
We were doing our daily fish-in cycle 90% water change and my husband saw a little platy fry! We have never had fish other then a Betta before now and we were both soooo excited. They are so tiny and adorable. It was hiding on the driftwood and the current got him...The giant red wag came flying out of nowhere and gone was the fry. We HAD fry for less then a minute.
We learned an important lesson today. Don't name the fry until you know its going to live.
Poison. {Named Poison because our Nitrites are spiking out of control and the poor thing was basically born into a poison bath.} No worries everyone-we are doing multiple water changes a day and testing the water.
Anyway thought I'd share this little story since it was both comical and sad. Our first fry!
P.S. My hubby just found another one. Lets hope he hides better.

It was the first time I ever cried for a fish, second was when my favorite Hoplo catfish named Rex died after escaping his tank on Christmas Eve.
