I was given a pregnant guppie from my place of work, cause they were getting swamped with guppies.

I took good care of her, but it seem to take a while for her to have her babies...
Last night low and behold, there wre 4 babies swimming around.

This morning there were NO babies swimming around!!!! I forgot about the fact they probably eat their babies!!!!

I have not had an aquarium around for a very long time...plus I have been so busy with life, I should have fixed up her aquarium better:(

Poor fry:(

they could be hiding, they are very good hiders, are there any other fish in there?

and :hi: to the forum

There will alawqays be more fry, they store sperm so in another month or so you'll probably see some more. You're not a bad mommy, you just let nature take its course, :hi: to tff!!

if your tank has loats of hiding places theres a good chance there still alive

Na...they are gone.
I didnt set it up so good, because I have been so busy with work, and my daughter is in dance school, (also Im a single parent, with old Granny mom living near by) so major stress lately!!!!!

There is lots of hiding places now:(

I was so happy with our guppy and 3 cats....

My guppy is a murderer.....

Guppies tend not to eat there own fry. Are you feeding her enough? Or maybe thye got taken in via the filter? Jus sounds strange to me that a guppy would eat its own fry, or any others for that matter  sound odd to anyone else?

That is very sad. i wish u took well care of them. Hope she will be pregnant and get babies again.

yes they store sperm, enough for 7 broods, 1 every 4 weeks, which is equal to 7 months of fry, they also WILL eat fry, whether there own or another fishies, i have only ever had 2 of my many, over 100 guppies not eat their fry. anyway good luck with the next lot, and need any advice i'd be happy to help

thats only if you catch them on there first lot, and its upto, although i have had many give birth every month for 7 months
