Hey all,

I had bought a male german blue ram from my local fish shop, but then i read on here that they like being in pairs, so i went out today and bought a female (read your advice on here and could tell by the pick belly).

She is about half the size as i presume she is younger, But im now worried that she might be a Bolivan ram, is there any way of telling? They seem to be getting on well, swiming around togeather.

any advice would be great,

thanks, mike

They don't look that much alike... Some online pics of the bolivian ram make it look like they're yellowish in front, but IME, that's more from the camera flash than actually shows...

In my experience ive found males to outgrow females and are generally larger. If your unsure of what you have ive posted a picture of my male & female:

It hopefully will be obvious from the pics above whether you have german blues or bolivian rams.

Well they've both got red eyes, so looking at the pics m thinking/hoping they are both blue rams!!

And the female has a nice rosey belly.
