so firstly are we talking us or uk gallons?
my tank of 190ltr i think is around 40uk gal or 50 us gal, that can make a difference to the calculations

also, mine is a trigon, so, i am limited to the lighting you might expect over a 60-70cm long tank, which i'll wager in most cases is less than 190 ltr so... does that mean my WPG is really that much less than the 70cm long tank??

currently i have 38 watts in 2 * 24" t8 tubes

i have added plants recently, in my first serious attempt at a planted tank, wonder if i need co2 (or at least if it will help) and whether i need more light

i have seen a nutrafin co2 at less than £15 shall i get it?

thanks in advance for all advice

You have almost 1wpg so co2 is not required but would definatly help your plants also plant ferts can help too. If you cannot add more lighting because of your tank then that is find since you can still have nice plants with almost 1wpg.

Hope that helped a little

If you're in the UK, have a look on www.aquaessentials.co.uk for Realux T6 tubes, they'll fit in the Juwel T8 hoods and up the lighting reasonably well.

WPG always uses US gallons, as that is where is was 'invented'
