Water Treatment Chemicals

With my current BiOrb when I do a water change and replace the filter, I add an included packet of "Stress Coat" and "Stress Zyme" to the water.

Now I've got a proper tank on order, what do I need in terms of water treatment now?

Will just getting these 2 in "bottle" form and adding the appropriate amount for the new tank and partial water changes be OK, or should I consider other decholinating chemicals?

Stress coat is an extremely good water conditioner, I use nothing but Stress Coat.

Stress Zyme is nothing but snake oil so it does not do anything, I would stop using it and save your money for something else.

I buy Stress Coat+ In huge bottles, this is all you need for water treatment.

I have been using King British Safe Guard, King British Safe Water and EasyLife Fluid Filter Medium with great success

Meds are a very personal thing... some folk "grow up" with certain products, and so "swear by them"

I like "Seachem prime" .... on a cost basis alone ! Its a LOT cheaper that the Tetra stuff I used to use...

You may also be needing some plant ferts... if so, "Flourish" and "Flourish excel" are great products, but cheaper can be found...

use a pond dechlorinator instead its a lot cheaper , i use tetra pond aqua safe other members use other makes for ponds it does exactly the same as the stuff for use in aquariums but is more concentrated so you use less

example tetrapond aqua safe - 10ml treats 200 litres of water - i use 1/2-1 ml on 10 ltr bucket lasts for ages

Ditto this. Also, no need to replace the filters in the BiOrb - doing so will destroy your cycle.
