Water Testing Kits

Are you looking for any price range or none at all? There are hundred dollar kits and there are 20 dollar kits. What is your price range that we can suggest on?

ive always used aquapharm test kits, not too expensive and ive never had a problem with them

The majority of members here use the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals master kit. It's very simple to use and last a long time.

australia, all you really need are the Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and pH (high and low) tests that are in the master kit. If you have a planted tank, you may want to get other kits such as Phosphate, Iron, and so on and maybe even a GH and KH set but you can easily get by without them. If you want to know the GH and KH of your water and it's good info to have, just tank a water sample the the fish store and they should be able to test it for you. Just make sure they tell you the exact number and not that the waters "soft" or "hard".

Choc, that's the API kit I mentioned earlier. Probably the kit most used by the members here.

I refuse to ever purchase paper test strips again. They are horribly inaccurate! I give another vote to the API Master Test Kit.

so whats the difference between the one that i mentioned and the one that rdd1952 mentioned? Does it matter which one i buy? It has different packaging?? Also, would it be ok if i bought it off ebay, or should i go to a lfs and purchase it?

Thanks all!!! :):)
