Turn that heater DOWN. 24-28 C ( 75-82 f ) is fine for most fish, but before you buy check what they prefer.

donna123, how do you keep your tanks at 24 C ? my heaters are turned off in the summer as I can't get my temp below 27 C !!!!

Thanks Ppls for your help.
What would be the best way to get the PH Level right? obviously a tester is a good start.

What is your ph reading ?

Ph is a thing you don't want to be messing with, it's more important to have a stable ph than a "correct ph".

Most fish can tolerate varying ph levels but don't like fluctuating ph levels.

If your ph is between 7-8 it's fine for most fish, a ph of 8-9 and it's great for African Cichlids.

If your ph is below 7 and you would like to raise it you can use crushed coral as a substrate, and if you want to lower it you can try adding bogwood.

But my biggest piece of advice would be NOT to use meds to raise or lower your ph,afterall your LFS ph is probably the same as yours anyway. It's best to find fish to suit your ph not the other way round.
