You should be doing a water change every week no matter what your water stats say.

If you answer a few questions for us we can work out a good maintenance regime for you.

When you say your water is "fine" what do you mean? We need numbers.
What size tank is it?
What tempreture is it at?
What filtration are you using.
What type of fish do you have & how many of each type(your stocklist)?

Can someone reccomend a good and quiet external filter for my 260 litre tank. I have a internL fluval u2 and u3. I also have a some plants that constantly make mess. So when it comes to cleaning my filter out. It all ends up back in the water as im taking the filter out. Im looking for something in the price range of 40 to 80 pounds. I plan to keep my u3 ajd replace the u2 with an external one. Please only recomend something if you have one! As noise is very important for me. It must be ultra quiet because noise bugs me and isnt good for the fish.

You're the expert, work it out yourself.

hang-a-dang here, amigo..this is the THIRD thread started by other people that you have 'hi-jacked' for your own question and own benefit within the last few hours, all asking the same question..following on from your pathetic approach to threads a few days ago, i will be very, very surprised if you ever get a decent reply from anyone on here again.
