Hello everyone I am a newby. I would like to introduce myself and my pod! I have several tetras, two angel fish, loaches and some transparent fish I cant remember their names, and in a seperate tank I have an Asian Snail it is quite large about 2 inches in size, is anyone familiar with these snails? He cannot go in the big tank because aparently the loaches would eat him alive.

I have a question for you, would it be harmful to use rain water from my waterbutt to fill my fish tank?? if I use it should I continue to use stress coat with it does anyone know.

I have heard of people using rain water before, as sort of an alternative to RO. I think the general rule is if you can be 110% sure no contaminants may of come in contact with the water then it should be ok.

The water you collect will be somewhat soft, so it is generally very good for South American tanks. general advice is to run it through some carbon to get the worst of any possible pollutants out before adding it to your tank.

Otherwise, it should be fine.
