I'm on day 47 so far and since day 10 my readings haven't changed.

- Amonia 0
- Nitrate 0
- Nitrita 0
- PH 7.2

The tank looks fairly clear and the fish seem happy. Even my 2 year old beta feels like
home with the Danio's. They get fed once daily. Is there any concern? or am I fine?

Nitrate readings should not be 0, it should be somewhere over 10. You have a problem! How did you cycle the tank? What sort of test kit are you using?

I agree that the tank isn't cycling. What type filter and media are you using? What chemicals are you adding to the tank? What are the readings on your tap water? Nitrate is the end result of the nitrogen cycle. Ammonia (fish waste) is transformed into nitrite which is transformed into nitrate. Unless the tank is very heavily planted, there should always be nitrate present.

I'm really puzzled as to why this tends to be the answer to people with 0 nitrate... Fair enough, it's odd, but it's been proven time and time again that nitrate test kits can be very innaccurate, and as long as ammonia and nitrite are 0, it doesn't matter too much anyway. After that amount of time, I think it's safe to say it's cycled.
