Water Quality Question?

ok my water is clear (going to get a test kit today last one run out) but when i do a water change and gravel vac the water thats in the bucket is almost black is this normal after a vac there is obviously loads of debris n poo etc etc in the bucket but id just like to know other members response to this thanks joe

Yeah i have had that before. I am guessin its all the crap in the gravel thats been unsettled

yeah it's just the debris etc out of the gravel. What type of gravel do you have??

im going to sound stupid here but i got the gravel from my lfs its blue and about 1mm in diameter

ok, it's just i use a peble like stuff about 1 - 1.5 cm each and this stuff is brilliant because it doesn't trap all the debris as much, doesn't look as good as the finer stuff tho.

The fish poop is called detritus, by the way. That and decaying uneaten food is what you are sucking up from your gravel.
