I would love to have a small bubble thing in my tank, but it has guppies and platies in it and I'm not sure if the guppies would be ok. It's a 10-gal so it's not large enough to really put it just at one end and it not effect the rest of the tank.
Do any of you have one in a small guppy tank?
Thanks!

Water movement is good for breaking the surface of the water to allow oxygen to dissolve into the water. In my experience, the small valves actually put out quite a bit of a bubbles, more than you would want. It would be a violent storm of bubbles comeing out, even with an air stone. What you can get is a small bubbler and a gange valve. Basically what this does is allow you to have to outputs on a single air pump. You put one output into the tank like normal. Then you crack the other one open to bleed out some of the air pressure. Basically it prevents the air from rushing through only one output.

Edit: Although in a ten gallon tank, most filters move the water enough for the aeration of the water. You probably don't need it, but if you wanted to do it, the gang valve is a good suggestion. Your fish will actually play a bit in the stream of bubbles.

A small supply of air is fine, it help natural filteraion and help the fish in general.

Their are some tiny pumps on the market now perfect for a small tank, so give it a go.

And, DO NOT forget the check valve(s).

Yeah, if only I had more room in my small house. I already have 7 (the largest is only 20gal), but what I wouldn't give to have a really big one!!! ^_^ My goal is to one day have a 40 gal goldfish tank, a 75-100 gal Oscar/JD/etc tank, and then combine most of my smaller community ones into a larger one (or 2!).
