hi i have a small tank and i have 2 mollys and 2 angelfishes.. i am new to this hobby so i dont know which water to use. fresh water/hard water????

Welcome to the forums.

Not sure what you mean by what water to use. Basically you want to use tap water with dechlorinator in it.

I'm a little bit worried about the tank size for the fish you have. What size is the tank (deapth, width, length) and how long has it been running? Also what kind of filter do you have on it?

Have a read through the topics below which cover most of the beginners questions and should give you a good understanding.

Edit: Just re-read the above and sounds a little blunt. Wasn't supposed to be, sorry :).

Basically if it is a new tank you are going to run into problems with it not being "cycled" in short this means the fish waste just builds up in the water rather then being processed by the bacteria (which is what happens in a mature tank). You "can" cycle the tank with fish in it but this is very bad for the fish and at best will shortern thier lives and at worst (most likely) will kill them. Most people not use small amounts of pure ammonia in the tank beofre putting fish in to cycle it. then once the ammonia can be processed in the tank within 12-24 hours they can put their fish in.

Angel fish need a big tank. It must be at least 18" tall (ideally 24" tall) as they grow very tall themselves. They dont need masses of left to right swim rioom but I wouldnt keep in anything smaller the 2ft in length when small and 3ft when big. Molleys I cant advise on because I have never really kept any liverbearers. I would say though that you should make sure you have two females (or two males? anyone advise) or you will be swarmed under with fry (though the angels might take care of them).

Do ask as many questions as you want here though :)
