Not too sure on what is going on with my water hardness at the moment. Cycled the tank and stocked it last week. Its 260l, with 40Kg Limestone, 36Kg of Caribsea cichlid substrate and 9kg of crushed coral - some in the filter and some mixed with substrate.

My pH as been steady at 7.5.

KH is 6.14 but GH is only 4.46

I think the KH is OK, but is the GH too low for Mbuna to be healthy?

I would have expected the hardness levels to be much higher with everything I have done to get the hardness up, so dont understand why it is only at this level. There is nothing else in the tank or any of the media that I am aware of that could pull the harndess down. Very confusing!

I've never really paid much attention to GH in my tanks, what's important is the KH. A high KH is necessary to keep your PH nice and steady, as long as neither of those fluctuate you should be just fine.
