Generally the fish's body shape will give you a clue, those with big caudal fins (eg. RTBS) are strong swimmers to cope with fast water currents, those with 'fat' bodies (eg. Discus) or elongated fins (eg. Angels) will prefer slower currents.

This is very general and i'm sure people will come up with exeptions to the rule :)

Dunno about shrimps, but I am surprized how much cories like strong current as well. I'm currently trying to breed panda cories, and I've found this out when I was following the recomended instructions for breeding cories in general.

There's a REALLY cool freshwater shrimp, it's common name is Vampire shrimp, I'm not sure on the scientific name, have to look it up... Anyway, it's a filter feeder with huge fan-like appendages that filter the water and extract food. They're usually found on the return flow of your filter, just enjoying the easy meal! EXTREMELY cool looking little guys too. I had one a long time ago, but he disappeared, and the lfs where I got him, hasn't had any in for ages. If anyone knows where to get em.. let me know?

So far, I had zero luck with shrimps. I tried ghost and amano shrimps - in both cases, I believe they are eaten when they molted. I provided alot of hiding places for those guys but that didn't seem to help. Grrr... :grr:
