Just a quick one really....ive always used external filters in my tanks before ...this is the first tank ive owned with a built in trickle filter...its the aqua one 620T ...and it works really well...
the only thing is it has a pretty good flow of water coming back into the tank which causes surface agitation and a good current stream into the water and mixes everything up...
now i have a variety of fish some which prefer flowing water...and some which prefer more peaceful water flow
what id like to know is....is the flow too strong for some of my fish...or can they handle it? what are the tell tale signs i should be looking for....i havent fully stocked the tank yet but at the moment i have 6 cory cats that are doing brilliantly.....sometimes they swim directly into the current for a while and then get blown away and they go back to eating on the floor.....is this okay or does this mean the current was too strong...
and i also have dwarf gouramis that tend to stay out of the way of the direct water flow....
i also have a rainbow ruby shark that does the same as the cory cats and swims around in the current and then goes back to doing whatever he was doing.....
i just want to know will this be okay for my fish or shall i lower the force by pushing the water against the tank wall first to reduce pressure....i dont want to make the tank dead inside with no water movement as some of my fish do need it....its just finding that middle balance
to describe the flow...its not ferociously strong...its about middle way on an external filter when you change the pressure...and if the fish dont swim...they will get moved by the current....so they have to keep swimming otherwise they will get blown away if in the direct flow
any advice appreciated thanks !
