Water Filter & Lighting

Hi,

Two quick questions:

1) I'm running my community tank on tap water which I pass through my RO unit pre-filter (one sediment filter, one standard (CCB) carbon & one ChlorPlus chloramine removal carbon) The tap is 6 kH going in but 7½ kH after filtering. Is this normal?

2) I have a 150 w metal halide pendant with an electronic ballast. Can this run a 70w MH without replacing the ballast as well.
