When adding new water to my tank I've always put in both Prime and these water conditioner blue crystals, as that was what I was sold when I bought my first tank and I never questioned it. But I'm not wondering if I actually need to use both, or if Prime would be enough? The crystals never really dissolve properly, I'd like to stop using them if I could ;)
This is what I've been using -

Prime is definitely enough. It is very concentrated and highly recommended. I haven't heard of anyone using the crystals, which doesn't mean they aren't good, just that you probably don't need them.

I've just googled that product - it's not a dechlorinator.

"A mixture of 9 salts and natural minerals. Increases hardness by 80ppm and salinity by 130ppm. Contains trace elements, fungal and bacterial inhibitors"

I wouldn't add anything that altered the hardness and salinity of my water, and regular water changes should replenish the trace minerals (unless of course your tapwater is deficient in them)

Sounds like one of those general tonic type products, unnecessary.

That's good to hear, thanks for the help :)
