Hope all is well with everyone! As a couple steps below a newbie, i am constantly paranoid here. My water has been cloudy since Saturday. I am doing daily 25% water changes to keep ammonia down. What is this cloudiness and why won't it go away? I thought it was a bacteria bloom at first, but from what I read it should have went away by now. I have a 10 gallon tank with a whisper 20 filter. Ammonia levels range from anywhere from 0-.5, nitrites.25, nitrates 5. I tried a water clarifier and it did nothing. Please help!

How many and what type of fish do you have?

It may be algae....is it s white cloud of greenish?

If it is a bacterial bloom it should be resolving with your water changes.

Did you wash the substrate well before putting it in?

IMHO, water clarifiers cause more hassles than good....though it hasn't caused this cloudiness, it may in other circumstances cause problems for the fish.

as i am looking at it now, it is kinda yellowish with a green hue to it, if you kow what i mean. I have a betta and five danios in there. Water changes don't seem to help at all. I thorough cleaned the gravel before putting it in there.
