ok i got a 90ish litre tank and change 20 litres every sunday eve.

would it be better to change smaller amounts more frequently as i would be able to do this a lot easier and i'm thinking that it might be benifitial to keep the water as constant as possible, for example, rather than a sudden drop in nitrates once a week, smaller drops every evening?

Give it a shot. I think changing water is all personal preference. I do 25% every 2 weeks, and normally my water is pretty good unless I make some major changes to the tank. Some people do water changes every other day, some once a month. I have a friend who leaves his tank for 3 or 4 months, then empties the whole thing out and starts from scratch.

Try it, and if it works better for you, and your water params dont get effected, then go for it!

In my 29 gallon, I usually change 5 gallon a week. That's about 16%.

I would stick to a weekly thing, your fish may stress over a constant "Intrusion" into their environment.

If you do decide to change it every day, turn out the light on the tank as soon as you are done, it will reduce their stress level.
