At the moment I been helped with my water changes by my b/f. But he now wants me to do it on my own, witch is fine with me, the problem is, I can not put my hands in the water as I have a skin condition.

Would rubber gloves herm my fish??

or is ther another way of doing the water changes.

thanks

Use a hose or some tubing. They sell special aquarium hoses in the pet shop which can be used to suck water out of the aquarium. Wow, your b/f is mean making you do that, seeing as you've got a skin condition.

Gloves work fine. I found some that go up to the shoulder. Just be sure you use those for fish related stuff only. You don't want any chemicals or soap to get on them.

I forgot to say, I like to clean the sand when I do water changes, my largest tank the only way to do it at the moment is to put ya hands in, oh it hard to exsplain.

anyway thanks for the glove advice.

you might get on better with workshop latex gloves as there closer fitting so wuld be easier to work with not being so bulky, would be hard to fine long sleeve ones though.

if you need long sleeved gloves, you can probably get disposable ones from your vet (as used to do horrible things to cows). you should be able to get a box fairly cheap.

you can probably buy them over the internet as well.
