Does changing 25% or 20% of the water everyday or 2nd day increase the chance of guppies giving birth soon, my female has been pregnant for almost 3 weeks and i am a virgin guppy breeder (i haven't bred before) so i am unaware of what it looks like when she is close to giving birth. I have read about the signs, tho knowing what to look for and actually what it looks like are two different things. thanks if anyone can help.

I doubt that will increase the chance of guppies breeding. In fact, it is pretty difficult to prevent them from breeding if you have a mix of males and females in the same tank...

Lol... Fries... like the french fries. It's fry, even in plural form. And I think redman is saying that his guppy is already pregnant and almost ready to give birth. When she is about to drop, her gravid spot will be very dark, she will (obviously) be very fat and somewhat square/boxlike when viewed from the side, and she will retreat to a secluded place to give birth. Giving birth can take anywhere up to 24 hours.

hey i have a smaller tank than my 32" tank it's only 12" or something, tho i don't have another heater if i was to place the pregnant Guppy in there it would shock her too much wouldn't it? thx again ( i would prefer this option as i have some nasty angel fish and a suspicious Gourami.

It would be better to have a heater in a tank with a preganent guppy because the higher the water temperature is the quicker the female guppy will give birth...

I have a ten gal tank that I put my preggos in before they drop...I have noticed a way to tell within a couple of days when there ready to drop. If u look at ur gup, she is big at the front or her stomach, mine when getting within hours of dropping get biggier at the back of her stomach like the fry has moved down near her rectum.
