Water Changes

How often (and how much) should I change the water in my freshwater Platy fish aquarium? I have heard that you should change it every week and I heard that you should change it every other week. I also heard that you should change 20%, 25%, and 50% of the water.

I have been changing 20% of the water every week. I wanted to make sure that was acceptable. My fish seem to be okay with it and the tank looks clean.

personally i do 20% weekly on my tanks. always have unless there has been a problem with the tank.

Yep anywhere between 10-25% every week/2 weeks is fine. For smaller tanks I would do 20% a week for bigger ones maybe 20% every two weeks.

it all depends on how many fish you have in the tank and the amount of filteration!
