I have a 55 gallon set up wtih 8 JD juvies. When I bought them they were about a half inch each and now four months later they might be inch each. i have been doing 20-30% water changes about every week and half and I have been feeding 3-4 times daily. From what Ive read JD's are usually quick growers, up to 8 inches in the first year. I was hoping to have my breeding pair in 6 months, but at the rate mine are growing it will be well over a year. Am I doing something wrong? Did I get fish with bad genetics? Any tips?

Change the water a LOT more. The cleaner the water, the better the greowth rate...

Kick up the water temp. Warmer water means higher metabolism, more eating & faster growth. 84F should be good.

They are all correct.

Plus feed them with Bloodworms and shrimp (If you can include the shell it's better) it will also enhance their colors , Flower Horn pellets (55% protein or more)
