Hello!

This maybe a stupid question, but how do you guys heat water when doing a water change?

Bucket of water with a spare heater in it I guess?

Thanks!

Hot water out of the tap with cold tap water

And de chlorinate it, then dump it in :)

I just use cold and trickle it in slowly from a hose.

If you are doing a large water change then its best not to make it too cold. You can use water from the hot tap as long as your dechlorinater also removes any trace metals incase your have a copper hot water storage tank.

Just put the measured dose into your first replacement bucket of water and carry on. No need to have the water temp exactly the same, just stick your hand in and guess!

When we add water I add the dechlorinator to the tank and then add the water. There's no need to switch off the filter as the dechlorinator is on there and working right away :) more time for the heater to do its stuff and the water is getting were oxygenated as the spray bar is so high :)
