Hi All,

Excuse my ignorance but what is the deal with these Nano tanks

Can you buy them complete as advertised ? They look really nice decorated !

What fish do you put in ?

I depends on the specific size and your water parameters, Gh, Kh and Ph. You can do a Betta in a 3-5 gallon. Shrimp look good in nano tanks. There are some cool snails out there too. Celestial Pearl Danio or ember tetra, tank size depending.

With that size of tank, you have a LOT of options. Do you have a starting point of what you wanted?

Am not sure what options are available as i am starting out, idea is to have some bright colourful fish & maybe something different like a snail or something to add in, am open to all suggestions...

Well, you linked to a reef tank. Are you wanting freshwater or saltwater?

That is about 60 us gallons. I think that is soft water (not good at the conversions myself). So you can do Gourami, tetra, rams. I am not much beyond beginner myself (only a year and change in the hobby).

That’s why i asked first question, I don’t know anything about these tanks! I would say freshwater , more options & easier to keep? ?‍♂️

Nano tanks are simply small tanks that usually hold less than 30 litres of water. They are impractical due to their size (dimensions) and small water volume. Try to avoid nano tanks.

The tank i looked at was 234L through?

An aquarium that holds 230+ litres is not a nano tank
Apologies you are absolutely correct, don’t know why i said nano.
It was the waterbox marine tank, are the reef tanks harder to keep & less options on the fish you can stock?

You could say that a larger tank, with nano fish in it, is a nano tank. With live plants, large shoals of tiny fish look very natural and Zen. Bigger shoals show the fish and their behaviour at their best.

Freshwater is the cheaper option. Marine fish are more expensive and rarer. Although you may find it hard to rival the aesthetics of some marine tanks.
