Water=bad How Can I Make It Aquarium Safe?!?!?

well we had a storm and they said they're going to lift the warning on the water soon..
but i'm putting a tank divider into my tank today and i need to glue it in so i need to take half the water out...
how can i make new water safe for the aqaurium?!?
besides boiling a hundred teapots haha
it's only 10 gallons..but still!! haha
