I have just had an amazing couple of hours watching my female Sajica! She has recently laid eggs and I was lucky enough tonight to experience the 'hatching'.
She laid about 60 - 70 eggs and they were all laid on the roof of a clay strawberry pot I have in the tank. Now what amazed me was she was WATCHING THEM FOR MOVEMENT!! As soon as she spied any sort of movement in the egg she would gently take hold of it and place it on the floor underneath where they were laid! This fascinated me by the way!! I must have sat and watched her for a good 3-4 hours. She made sure they are all safe and I now have quite a lot of little wriggly's!!
I do know they are good parents but I have moved the dad into my big tank just to make sure no-one gets eaten
Sajica's are gorgeous and I am very very happy right now as I had to travel 150 miles to get a male that I could get her to breed with, and he has pulled it out the bag and produced some (hopefully) very healthy little blighters.
When I can get a good picture I will upload them here for you all to see!
