Are there any fish that will eat fish waste? corys? BN plecco? anything?

If there is what would go well in mbuna tank.

Also I don't have an algae eater. I've heard BN plecs are the best for cichlids but why not chinese algae eaters??

BN's and CAE are fine but small CAE's may get bullied or killed if to small.

Cory's dont mix though.

I use Rusty, BN, L001, Gibby's and CAE's in my mbuna's tanks and they do fine.

If im not mistake, i believe syno cats are a good choice as well.

I rreeeeally want one of those, but the guy in my LFS said they get too big for a 100litre tank :(

What are your tank dimensions? There are small species that only reach a few inchs.

Well it's a Juwel Rekord 96, i aint sure exactly. I think about 2.5 foot long, by 1 foot wide and about 1.5 foot tall

Hmm yeah might be a bit small. Maybe a few petricola. I dont know there max size. I do believe they are on the smaller size of the syno's. There are also dwarf syno species. I read an article from a syno petricola breeder who said his fish were 2 years old and only 3 inches. Maybe this helps?

Just thought I'd point out that there is no fish that will eat waste. There are however, bottom feeder fish (some great ones have be already posted) that will eat leftover food. Although, if you aren't overfeeding them, IME mbuna don't leave any scraps behind for bottom feeders  , so you'll need extra food for them.

Algae eaters will also need to have supplement feedings, as aquarium algae doesn't have a lot of nutrition. :good:

Hey good new. A Synodontis lucipinnis only gets to about 4" at the max. You may be able to have a couple.

I'd have 2 at the minimum. I believe they are more pack animals.
