i got this waste control this from my LPS, i was wondering if anyone esle uses it, or have dose it work? its in a white bottle with red words on it

From what I am reading, it will not do anything bad to the tank, but most people will think it is a waste of time. Basicly it is suppose to add in bacteria to break down the waste. If you did a cycle on your tank, it should be fine.

What exactly is the name of the product for waste control?

If it's chemicals to reduce ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates, then avoid them. A water change is just as effective, better, and cheaper.

Those bacteria starters, like Stress Zyme, are, IMO, waste of money. Some of these products contain different types of bacteria (nitrosomas & nitrobacter) contained in a normal established tank. They do not colonize, like the nitrisomas & nitrobacter do and therefore, need to be added at each water change. Therefore, you must continue adding them, via the bottle. Also, don't forget, bacteria need food and oxygen to survive. Imagine how long the bottle sits on the shelf. Once the bacteria in the bottle consume it's food and oxygen, they would eventually die off.

thanks for the posts back, i got it in a little bottle for free with my new filter, i'v never seen or heard of it before so i was just wondering
