I got a waspfish yesterday, hes tiny only about 1 inch or slightly more long

Hes in my brackish tank with three sole that I bought at same time

Hes ignored bloodworm but eaten a little brine shrimp with spitulina

he's not very active and is hiding by a rock, the fish in the sho seemed quite active

are they an active fish?
do they prefer their own company?
whats the ideal salinity?
whats the ideal diet? and how big do they grow?

Cheers for any advice

cheers Stang

that does help but I hope mine becomes more active

No problem. ;)
I saw these in a shop and fell in love with them. Unfortunately, I haven't got a spare tank to keep them in.
Good luck with yours and don't forget to post pics!

cheers Karl

I'll keep out of his way then lol I always panicked round my toadfish!

Mine only lasted for 10 months and was just over 5cm's long. we kept him in SG1.005 and mainly ate live foods - mostly brine shrimp and daphnia.

I've got a feeling that he may have died either because the salinity was too low or that he didn't get a varied enough diet.

there is a thread on this forum devoted to waspfish.

I've raised the salinity slightly, its the food I'mworried about cos hes tiny as i is, I'll get some live blood or shrimp tomorrow see if I can get him full up to start with

Nearly two weeks on they are doing spot on

I raised the alinity to about 1.008 and this seemed to perk him up and I added another which also cheered him up

Their colouring is brighter now and they are quite active especially when food goes in when they dart about and punce on the frozen brine that goes in

great little fish I'm looking forward to them growing a bnit

cheers guys

going to try some pics in a min just need to clean the glass
