I already have a co2 regulator(red sea) with needle valve , diffuser , bubble counter for 129 bucks, I bought it last yr

Now today I bought another co2 regulator w/ a solenoid for 78 bucks..hey i mite save some money on my refills so itswasnt that bad to get this 1 eventho i already have a co2 regulator?

Upgrading to better equipment is always tempting... I've upgraded a few lights to T5 and heaters and filters... never got into CO2... yet... :)

Changing equipment when you don't need to is just a waste of money.

Thats if you look at it simply Yazon.

There's advantages to improving kit on your tanks. It could just be for a better make for ease of finding spares, it will give you spare equipement for another tank or should something fail on your current tank and of course you can always sell your old kit on to make some money back.

I agree with you 100%, but I was looking at it simply.

If there is nothing wrong with the equipment you got now and your fish are very healthy then why bother. If it ain't broke why fix it......

I don't think thats the case with aquariums. You can always upgrade something, and an upgrade is always better!...Hence the word upgrade lol.

ya but this regulator has a solenoid..hence money saving on co2 refills :shifty:

The "if it aint' broke don't fix it" mentality is what causes all those old corollas and volvo's to still be on the road - are they dependable - for sure - are they comfortable and environmentally friendly - probably not... It's the same with quarium equipment ->> if you had a syphon that worked - chances are it would last you years - but upgrading to a python will make your life so much better.... Same with going from an internal to a biowheel - not "necessary" in that the fish will live - but a nice bonus

The solenoid based system is more economical and you don't run the stress of having compressed gas in the house (read your insurance policy -there's some clause against it in condos and stuff) - in most cases an upgrade with a purpose is a good idea.

Is this the system made by Azoo or Jebo ? One of my mates is kinda looking at getting one...
