Could I use that in a FW aquarium? I don't like the look of gravel.

Play sand, or pool sand. Get some non toxic kids sand and give it a good wash.

You can also try silica(sp?) sand, a lot of fish stores sell this, i have some fine white silica sand in my freshwater tanks for many years now and have no issues with it and it looks great .

Well in the uk playsand is £2.50 for 16kg at argos.. i'm sure you could get it for $3.00 a bag.

Can't remember the exact quantities i bought my silica sand in when i got it, bought it in shoe box size bags for about £1 each, i dunno if thats any help though .

i'm pretty sure that £ is generally equivelant to double american money. if that makes any sense.

well yes £1 would equal about $2 US. dam them in europe and having money worth more than ours, but mostly dam our gov't and the inflation argh!
