Hi
i know; yet another post about sexing Bolivian Rams.Got 2 this weekend, and they're still to colour up properly.Wanted a male & female. How did we do?
Please excuse the green spot algae, i've only got it in one small patch at the bottom of the tank, but would they move away from it? No chance.
First one, male?

What do you think.Thanks

Haha i'm going to be after some of these in a few months time.
I think that the first 1 is a male, but i'm not too sure if the second is female :/
I'm as new to it as you

IMO, I think you got it! I always judge on the shape of the abdomen and the breeding tube (if and when present). I would have guessed male and female (in that order). Good work! :good:

Breeding tubes was the main thing i was looking at,spent ages staring at them before buying.
Close up of Female?Lost the resolution a bit.

Looks like you got it right mate, I'd say a male and female there.

Yup looks like male and female, good luck one of my females laid eggs, but sadly none survived. Now my male has switched attention to the other female and paired with her! Lots of stone cleaning and pit digging seen tonight, wonderful bright colours and they have been dancing and shaking all evening. This male likes his lady's . Great choice of fish.

Great choice of fish.

They do seem to be popular, I've lost count of the number of posts/topics recently, where people are suggesting/recommending them. I like them. They 'lip locked' a couple of times last night, and both have coloured up a lot since then....Fingers crossed.
