As you might new Jersey in the CI was occupied by the Nazi's during both world wars and as a result we have endless fortifications, bunkers, cannons and other relics of the war. Here is a few test photo's I took this morning.

That's Gorse isn't it. Nice. We don't have gorse round here but I saw a lot of it on my many holidays to Wales.

The pics are nice but a little unsettling. I had to turn "Saving Private Ryan" off after the first 10 minutes and give myself a chance to calm down, I'll never forget that beach scene.

Interesting stuff. My father was a B17 pilot during WWII and was stationed in a town called Nuthampstead near Roysten. He always spoke highly of the British. I'll try and post some pix someday. SH

I have wandered around those fortifications. A travelling friend of mine lives in Trinity, Jersey CI, (used to be friends plural, but sadly his wife died a few years ago). There was another place, an underground hospital, now a museum which is from that era as well I recall.
That's Gorse isn't it.
My parents live in the southern part of the New Forrest, there is a lot of Gorse there, very attractive, but prickly.

Very prickly, I wanted it all round my old front garden to keep the neighbours kids out, muhahaha!
