Hi I'm new to the forum and would just like to know what fish I can keep with Firemouth cichlids.
I currently have a 450ltr tank and all that is in there is a 35cm 12yr pleco.
Now I have read many different articles on Firemouths and most saying rainbow fish or tigerbarbs and also catfish. I am kind of hoping that the rainbow fish are true because i can then transfer my ones from the wife's tank into my new bigger one. also have been thinking of two gouramis (pearl) and 8 cory's and a batch of of shrimps to aid cleaning and maybe as a little snack for the fire mouths.
I was hoping to keep two pairs within this aqurium. the tank is currently maturing with the pleco and is well planted so should be ready within two weeks then the possible tank mates will go in then two to three weeks later the firemouths. so maybey in 5-6 weeks time it will be set.
I would also like to add that the firemouths will be juviniles so to ease on the tank mates.
all help with this topic will be gratefully appreciated.
