hi there i am considering going to a planted tank also but there is a lot of requirements that the plants need, i have an anubius at the mo and its as hard as nails it has been in my tank for 18 months with low light and no ferts and is doing well though slow growing! so i would reccomend what worked for me have been anubius java fern (attached to bogwood) brazillian waterweed (i think is the name not sure) (probably the most common and cheapest aquatic plant) and some sort of giant grass that i cant name but i will try upload a photo as i dumped this in my cold aquarium and it has took over and formed about 30 rooted plants! a bit vague but hope this helps you.

yeah cheers m8,if you could upload the photo, that would be great, and if any1 else has any suggestions, let me know!!!!!!!!
