Want To Fir Board/back Ground In Already Running Setup

Hi I have a river reef 94 I've got a back wall for it now I did not fit it when I set up the tank
As I could not get the plastic jets on when it was fitted but i think its going to look
A lot better with it fitted, I have gravel plants in so far I was wanting to no how hard it would be to put it in
And will it mess the water up if I remove it and turn of the pumps while I fit it

I think its some type of plastic I would need to make the holes bigger by breaking some of it off to make the holes bigger
I'm sure it would be safe to do this

If I understand correctly you are wanting to add a 3d background inside your tank while it's full? I did that recently to my Juwel 260 and although it was difficult I managed it. I turned off my external filter and the internal canister filter which I left inside at the front of the aquarium. It's ok to turn off your pumps/filters while you work on the background for as long as the media inside the filter is kept wet.
Sounds like it's one of those fibre glass or acrylic backgrounds (resembles plastic and is drillable) so it will be submersible and you can install this when the tank is full. Any other type of 3d background (polystyrene, foam etc) would have to be siliconed in place in an empty tank.
Holding the background in place might be an issue - managed to get mine secure with bogwood and rocks along the bottom and was able to cable tie it in places at the top. Just take your time, hope it goes well for ya.
