i have this really..ugly looking gravel or so i think, i like the natural stuff in tanks it looks so much better, but i started with a very colour full gravel that i do not like hone bit, i want to get a large gravel hopelly tan..im sure my fish would enjoy a some more natural looking stuff to, but im lost on where to go with this, i'v wanted sand also but my brother-in-law, hes doing this for years now. Or so he says, he told me not to get sand because the fish make a mess with it, it gets in ur filters and is not worth the work..i was wondering if is worth changing to sand or stick to gravel, and if there some chemicals i should get to change the gravel with? any personally favs or suggests are very much liked

I would personally go with the sand, its alot better for your fish and much more naturual looking. As for getting into your filters just let the sand settle before turning them on, i havent had a problem with them yet.

I used playsand from home depot. 3 bucks for a 50 pound bag. and make sure you rinse it good.
