i have a 30 gallon tank ready to go, i am planning to replace the plastic plants with live..

I want a pair of cockatoo cichlids to breed in the tank. i may have a small school of some sort of tetras in the tank as well.

I live in oklahoma city, and cant seem to find the cockatoos anywhere, or a local fish forum for that matter.
does anyone happen to know where i can find a pair around here, and do you think it will be possible to trade the fry for lfs store credit?
thanks

i recently acquired 1 male and 2 female Apistogramma cacatuoides (cockatoo cichlids) and am hoping to breed them as well. theyre awesome fish so far. private caves such as bogwood, rock, coconut shells and ceramic pots are needed for each female, and the recommended ratio seems to be 1 male to 3 females. use the scientific name and do some searches for more breeding information. i am also looking for a better source for breeding info, so far to no avail. search the forum a bit though, and you should learn the basics.

if your having trouble finding some yourself, i would suggest finding a high quality local fish store(lfs)and see if they cant order some for you. you could also try to find some on the internet, although i've never personally acquired fish in that way and cant suggest any sites.

while at your lfs ask about getting credit for your potential fry, im sure that some fish store would love to take them for credit.

hope this helps
