There! ;0)
My 45gal is a little understocked...it has 3 platys, 3 bronze corydoras and 10 guppies. What else can I buy? I want something colourful, but preferably a smaller shoaling fish.
Any suggestions? :D

I would add 2-3 more cories, since they love to be in groups. Having done that, you will stil have some space. I would add maybe 6 cardinal tetras, they are the best schooling fish in the world to me

The only thing that worries me is that although the tank is understocked now, it may be overstocked a few months down the line. This is because you have the horniest fish on the planet, guppies.

:D Thanks for replying, P.T! Ok, so I'll buy 2 more cories, 6 cardinals and the guppies - well, doh!
Actually it's ok, because I don't have much luck with fry. Only a few ever survive in each batch. One of my XL female guppies actually has a gravid spot. When I first noticed it I thought she was ill! :look:

maybe a school mixture of neon tetras(10 maybe)glow light(4/5)(harliquin rasboras(4),i have that mixture in my community and they all school together, looks awsome!

Sounds cool! If I bought some cardinals as well as them though do you think they would still school together? :)

Yes, definitely.

I would personally drop the neons, no doubt others would drop the cardinals. I have an awful track record with neons, but an excellent one with cardinals. Others are terrible with cardinals, but great with neons.

Trial and error :)

P.T.

edit: cardinals and neons look very similar, so there isn't much point mixing the two. Also, you should be aware that many neons carry a disease, Neon Tetra Disease aka plistophora. It is no longer exclusive to them, but most of the time the disease is introduced into tanks from these guys.

Oh.
Ok, so I won't get the tetras, ahhh don't want any diseases!
So I'll get 6 cardinals, 5 glow light tetras and 4 harliquins. So that will work?
Hopefully I'll be able to get down to my LFS tonight... :D

Might be slightly overstocked, but shouldn't be a problem if you keep up with water changes :)

Also, don't get them all tonight  . You should add a few every week so that the good bacteria in the tank can catch up to the extra bioload.

HTH.

Ok thanks for replying then everyone! :D

EDIT: Oh, and I thought I'd add this too, though it's something completly different. My two clown loaches have got ich. Only those two, no other fish. I raised the temp, and have been treating that tank with protozin. Last night one of my clowns - poor thing - his skin started peeling off in lumps. He must have been in agony. I don't know what happened to him. It looked really sore and he started getting these red lumps all over him. I found him dead, upside down in a plant this morning. All of his skin was hanging off of him.
:-( Poor little guy. R.I.P, Cracker! His friend, Lolly, isn't looking too good either... :byebye:

I reccomend Cherry barbs, they are great community fishes and shoul lightly. I just think they are REALLY purty.
