Want a pair of cichlids

I have a 29 and a 15 gallon. The 15 is empty and the 29 has a bunch of smaller fish. I dont think that they all will fit in the 15 if i have to move the cichlids i want to the 29. I guess i could put a few in my guppy tank.( 10 gallon )

What type of cichlid could i get for the 15? I guess i can have them in their until they get bigger then maybe my then i will have somewhere to put my other fish.
Any ideas on what i can get. I was hoping that i could get something that will breed easily and i wont really have to help.

cherry barbs,mollies,kuhli loaches,dwarf neon rainbows, weather loach, zebra danios, serpae tetras, dwarf gourami, platys, Pictus catfish, common plecco

If you want suggestions on a pair , look into kribs or thomasis [ dwarf african butterfly cichlids], or post in the new world cichlids .

In new worlds you will [ IMO] find many choices .

With those tank sizes , I would suggest dwarfs .

check out the fish in my sig , they all stay small , though not all cichlids , some behave similarly[ to cichlids].

You might be able to get a few of the shell dwelling dwarf cichlids but they are hard to find most of the time. I have only seen them in specialty shops and good specialty shops are few and far between. I would probably suggest kribs but if you want them to breed a 15 is a small tank, probably too small for them to feel comfortable breeding. Some of the New World dwarf cichlids might work also, you should try posting there and see what comes up!

You can either do dwarf new world species (rams), west african dwarf (kribs) or tanganyikan (shell dwellers). With the first two you will want lots of decoration and plants, with the shell dwllers it would be a mostly bare tank with sand and shells. Either way, tough tetra's like your serpaes, as well as the danios, will do well with what you chose.
