Want A Community Tank

So, I have a girl betta, shes a bit older now (3 yrs +), and I was wondering of maybe adopting some girls for a community tank ( I have a 20 gal), but was wondering if she will pick on them,(she's quite big now), the girls they usually sell at the pet store are so small compared to her! I know I will need to get atleast 3 more. any help will be great, thanks!

As long as the females have plenty of spaces to get away they will be fine. She will probably put the others in their place to begin with but once that is sorted they will settle down
